PROSPERITY DZI/5 BATS/MASCOTS DZI BEAD

Normally known as the prosperity dzi. The body of the dzi bead is represented by 5 bats/mascots.Prosperity dzi-bead gives the following benefits to the wearer:-

• prosperity, success, health, blissfulness and marriage

21- Eyes/Eyed Dzi Beads

The 21 eyed dzi helps to strengthen power, realization of wishes, attaining the highest level of enlightenment. Very often, those who wish to do meditation would benefit from wearing such dzi

Some believed that the contrast between a modern dzi bead and an old one might be detected by the timing the holes drilled.

In a modern dzi,

• the holes are drilled ahead of its etching

• both the holes drilled are very symmetrical or very straight

whilst in an old dzi

• you can see that the holes drilled in from one side to the other might not symmetrical or that straight – one side the hole can be in the middle whilst the other side the hold is not right at the diameter but at the side
• at the corner of these hole, you can also see corners that might have been runned/worned down in an uneven manner as a result of connecting the dzi bead with other harder crystals/stones

Of course, after saying that there are many more criteria in assessing a pure ancient dzi bead compared to a modern on.

However, please do not be unduly concern with the “dirtiness” of the dzi bead. In fact, we must not use such abrasive materials or even natural materials like sea-salt water to clean the dzi bead as this will see the loss of the beautiful patina/sheen,etc of the dzi bead. Basically, do let the pure dzi bead be “natural in line with the time it has passed”

After saying that, perhaps some small pampering/maintenance of our valuable powerful dzi bead can be done.

Some suggestions are:

• when we first bought the dzi home , we can do some initial slight cleaning say with blessed water or natural Tibetan blessed fragrant will do.
• we can also use the same method of running water like the crystal method to cleanse the Dzi beads from negativity. ( re: hold the dzi bead under running water, imagine all negativity has disappeared and good positive airs are here. Imagine the good thing that the dzi bead brings to the wearer. You can even resort to chanting words like “let the power of the spirit of the gods within the dzi beads blessed the bead and the owner/wearer”
• Next, we can put them to rest on pure sandal wood and let them listen to blessings from taped recording. When not in used the dzi bead should preferably be laid at the altar
• of and on, we can get some true blessing from the rinpoche or monk in the temple
• also at times, we can might buy flowers, rest the dzi bead on them and around 11 am -1pm, put it out for lazing outside or when it is full moon, we can likewise let it out to absorb the moon essence. This is likened the dzi bead is a natural being that can absorb the natural essence of sunlight and moon light to strengthen itself.

Perhaps, this might be a bit too far fetched but try them and you will feel that the dzi bead are getting more stronger which can then confer better benefits to you.

Kwan Yin pattern dzi-bead

Kwan Yin or Kwan Yin Pu Sa/ “ Tibetan Chenrezig/Green Tara) is the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, & is one of the most popular Bodhisattvas in all of Asia.

Her name roughly translates as “The One who Hears the Cries of the World.” It is reckoned that Kwan Yin Dzi brings forth mental tranquility, and ensures safety in traffic. She is believed to hear the cries of humans and attempts to assists with reliving the pain human experience.

Note that there might be another figure on the other side of the Kwan Yin. These second figures can be a wide variety of symbols.

Once would need to read for the other symbol as well as for Kwan Yin.

The Ruyi pattern is generally found only on certain types of beads, for instance it will almost never be found on the number eyed beads. The Ruyi pattern is not commonly found amongst Dzi beads. Also, this Ruyi pattern is normally found only in older bead.

Hence, the Ruyi pattern symbolizes a sacred bead which normally being used by monks in temples or other altar ceremonies.
