The 4 eyes on this Dzi bead is a symbolism of the 4 major Bodhisattvas of Buddhism. The 4 Mahasattva Bodhisattvas are of particular significance in Mahayana texts:· Maitreya (popularly known as Laughing Buddha),
· Avalokitesvara (popularly known as Kwan Yin),
· Manjusri, and
· Mahasthamaprapta.
As the Four(4) eyes/eyed-Dzi bead symbolizes the aforesaid 4 major bodhisattvas it therefore: 1. increase the wearer’s wisdom,
2. releases human suffering and brings forth general good fortune in human life.
3. This Dzi bead assists to Gather Wealth & Luck,
4. Serves as a Protector and Power to Ward off Evil Spirits/ Subdue Demons,
5. Clearance of Obstacles,
6. and Increasing Merit & Longevity by the 4 Bodhisattvas.
7. Helps To Overcome Negative Forces,
8. Increases Merits & Longevity
[ To the Buddhists, the Bodhisattvas are enlightened beings who have put off entering paradise in order to help others attain enlightenment. The Bodhisattva upon death leaves the cycle of life-death-rebirth and enter nirvana, but due to their great compassion for all other beings choose instead to remain in the samsaric realm to aid suffering humanity. They devote all their power and energy to saving suffering beings in this world. The Bodhisattva is motivated by compassion and guided by wisdom in his quest to guide and help suffering beings ]
